Meaningful Films share stories of hope during Mental Health Awareness Week

Today sees the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week and given that we are now in the ninth week of lockdown the issues of mental health have never been more important.

The theme for this year’s mental health awareness week is kindness and that means being kind to others but also kind to ourselves.

Statistics from 2014 revealed that 80% of homeless people in England reported mental health issues. When we filmed A Roof Over My Head last year it was apparent that mental health was underlying many homeless related problems. But, thanks to the joined up services in BANES there is help available for anyone who is struggling to keep a roof over their head.

We thought it would be a tribute to the charities and organisations in our area to show clips from our film during this week, reminding us all of the great work that everyone is doing, and now more than ever helping people from all walks of life.
